So the doctor visit on Thursday wasn't as cool as I thought it was going to be. All they did was weigh me, take my blood pressure and pulse, and draw a blood sample. She gave me a list of medicines I'm allowed to take if needed....and that was it! I'll tell you though, that phlebotomist was the best I've ever had!

A Few Good Reads
I scheduled my first doctor appointment! It's this Thursday (March 19th) at 9 am. I'm not sure what all they're going to do. I know for sure that they will be doing a urinalysis. Maybe a pelvic exam? I don't know. Hopefully something fun. Er...as "fun" as the OB/GYN can be--ha ha!!
Ray and I got out of the house today. First, to get some much-craved Chinese Food at a restaurant that I will probably never go to again. Service was...okay. But I wanted chicken and mushrooms--you know, the kind with chicken and mushrooms and squash and stuff. But the guy gave me moo goo gai pan. Which IS chicken and mushrooms, but not the kind I wanted. I was a little disappointed. Ray was NOT happy about the lack of pork fried rice on his plate too.
We went to the Galleria--my first time!!--which is the biggest mall I have ever seen. It's in the middle of downtown Houston. My biggest reason for going there was because it was the only place I knew of that had a big book store. So we stopped by Borders and picked up a few books. I bought "What To Expect When You're Expecting"--a new mommy classic, the "What To Expect Pregnancy Journal and Organizer", a really cute baby book that covers the first three years, and "The Expectant Father: Facts, Tips, and Advice for Dad's-to-be" for Ray.
I'm excited to get started!

It's official....
So I've gotten over the shock. I'm going to be a mommy!
I had been feeling a little...icky, I guess is the word. I felt kind of under the weather for a week or so. I took a pregnancy test, but it showed up kind of weird. There was only one line, which means not pregnant, but that line was in the "pregnant" line's spot. I guess the test didn't work right. I texted Candace (my sister) a day or two later and asked her how she felt in her earliest days of her pregnancy. She told me and I got nervous--that was exactly how I had been feeling. I elaborated on that and she replied with "Yeah. Sounds about right." Oh great. She told me I should take a digital test. I was freaked out for the rest of the day.
So I got home and wanted to wait until I really had to pee (sorry for my lack of eloquence...) before I took the digital test. I fell asleep. LOL! But the next morning I woke up to take Ray to work and had to go to the bathroom. I remembered the test, so I decided to do it. I had convinced myself the night before that I wasn't pregnant, so I was NOT expecting the result I got. I quickly grabbed it when I went to wash my hands and saw the result. "Pregnant". I waited for the "Not" to appear. Didn't happen. I was stunned. Ray came knocking on the door to see if I was ready to go. I handed him the test and at that point I think we both knew our lives were going to be different from that point on.
So here we are! Gonna be a mommy and a daddy! It's going to be hard since we're not "together" anymore, but we'll work it out. Everything will be alright.

A New Start
So...I found out (yesterday) that I'm pregnant. I took the digital test. No lines, no plus signs--"Pregnant". Bam! Just like that. So here I am. With child.
I'm tired though. I'm going to bed. I'll write more about it later.
